Jay Bruce just doubled again, his second of the night and 23rd on the year. 38 XBH in 225 atbats.

The Bats just scored 3 runs in the 9th to win 4-3.
Abad hit a 2 run homerun and Sardinha doubled in the winning run.

Wise has played in several games for Chatt already. I would assume he gets bumped up as soon as there's a spot in Louisville.

Ward had 8 ground outs and 1 fly out. Ward has absolutely turned it on after a somewhat rough first month.

Ward was a little rusty in April having not thrown a competitive pitch since last May at Gardner Webb. Since the beginning of May, Ward has been nothing short of impressive. His ERA is now down to 3.07, his WHIP is a terrific 1.03, his walk rate has dropped significantly to a very solid 2.62 walks per nine innings and his K rate has jumped to nearly 8 K's per nine innings.

A promotion to Sarasota should be just around the corner for Zach Ward.

Was at the Dragons game tonight. Ward looked great his breaking stuff had a lot of movement, thats what he got the majority of his k's with. Offensively the team looked pretty week aside from a couple of hard hit balls by Bruce. BJ was pitched around most of the night and that just about wrapped up the offense. Going down to hopefuly see Cueto tonight, gonna try and get some pics.
Back to following MiLB; there's always hope for tomorrow!

Ward needs to be promoted a level. So does Fisher. Both of these guys are 23 already and have shown they can handle Low-A ball. It is usually not a system shock to move to the Florida State League, given the friendliness of the parks.

I'd move a couple of the older relievers in Sarasota like Jan Granado or Jeff Bruksch (who's at least one level too low, considering he's spent multiple full seasons at AA) or James Abbott (or maybe Abe Woody) to Chattanooga and then move Jim Paduch and James Avery to the bullpen for a little while to make room for the new starters. Paduch's upside is somewhat limited and Avery has been struggling.

Then, completing the domino effect, I'd promote lefty Jon Coutlangus and righty David Shafer to AAA and release righty Jake Robbins and lefty Mike Venafro from Louisville.

Dayton would then get some replacements from whoever's left in extended spring training or maybe a couple of the advanced college relievers (we drafted seemingly dozens of 'em) that sign quickly from this year's draft.

Ward is only 22, but yes he needs to be promoted.

i doubt it. he will probably spend the entire year, like most all players for cincy. i cant remember the last player who left the dragons during the season(during his first season with them).

Did Richie Gardner move up to High A from Dayton in his first year? because he was the same type of pick as Ward, they both sat out the year they were drafted.
