CINCINNATI - A group led by Rick Steiner recently acquired a unit in the Cincinnati Reds.

Included in Steiner’s ownership group are Jim Miller, Rocco Landesman, Gary Rabiner and Dale Rabiner.

Reds chief executive officer Bob Castellini said, “We are proud to have Rick and his group as our partners. They love the game of baseball, love Cincinnati and are lifelong Cincinnati Reds fans.”

Steiner said, “We all have had a lifelong passion for the Reds and are thrilled that Bob Castellini invited us to sit on the ownership bench. We look forward to watching our great fans cheer on the revitalized Reds.”
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

I assume this is good. An olive branch from Castellini to the ownership group that came in second. I hear that Steiner understands marketing and that kinda stuff.
How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids

    Very impressive.

And for the 7th Inning Stretch, instead of Take Me Out to the Ballgame/God Bless America, the Reds will have a 7 year old kid singing...

    The sun'll come out
    Tomorrow
    Bet your bottom dollar
    That tomorrow
    There'll be sun!

    Just thinkin' about
    Tomorrow
    Clears away the cobwebs,
    And the sorrow
    'Til there's none!

    When I'm stuck a day
    That's gray,
    And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
    And Grin,
    And Say,
    Oh!

    The sun'll come out
    Tomorrow
    So ya gotta hang on
    'Til tomorrow
    Come what may
    Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
    I love ya Tomorrow!
    You're always
    A day
    A way!

Perhaps Cast, no spring chicken, is already putting in place a succession plan.

I hope this doesn't mean a sale of Adam Dunn to the Yankees to finance this producer's latest project.

    /just sayin'
Sabermetrics can be boiled down to this simple truism: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.

After the announcement, Steiner climbed the turnbuckle shouting: "You want some? Come get some! You don't like me? Bite me!"

    Then he cheap shotted RCast.

I think it's great that Rick's involved. Just don't let Scott in. He's crazy.

I hear Buff Bagwell's thinking of buying some shares as well. The Reds will then be re-named the nWo Wolfpack.
