Ouch! Looks like RA has a regular gig for the next few weeks.

Really makes sense. It's retroactive and we have two off days coming up. Let it rest completely and ride Aurilla/Freel while they are hot.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

So long as Griff doesn't join him. We have decent depth, but two key cogs... ugh.

Good move. EdE never had an offseason -- he can probably use a breather, and it'll make sure his ankle is fine. It irritated me during O'Brien's tenure that the team would often be playing with 24 guys, waiting for someone to get healthy.

Irritated? It had me ready to choke the guy. Not that I'm violent or anything.

I guess this "very mild sprain" was a bit more than "very mild."

I've learned not take anything I hear from the Reds re injury reports at face value.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

This also gives him a chance for rehab assignment to work on hitting and fielding as he is recovering.

What's wrong with his hitting? He was hot before he got hurt.

I wasn't saying anything wrong with it. I was saying he gets a chance for rehab starts. He doesn't have to come back cold without some atbats. 15 days or longer not playing can affect your swing.

To be honest, high ankle sprains can really linger, so I don't mind this at all. Let it heal completely then let him come back 100% healthy. It's not like RA hasn't filled in like a champ thus far....
