    MLB Extra Innings Blackout

Anybody have any idea why tonight's (Saturday, June 10) Reds/Cubs game is not being picked-up by MLB Extra Innings? It's scheduled to air on Fox Cincinnati, so I know the game is being televised. I checked ESPN and WGN and don't see the game scheduled there, so that eliminates a possible conflict with rights.

So, what the heck! Why isn't the game being aired?

the game starts at 5pm so it is blacked out due to Fox. If the game started at 6pm like it should it would be shown. I cannot understand why the Red's changed the start time of the games on Sat this year but it will screw up MLB extra innings all year

Thanks, but what makes you think the game starts at 5:00 PM? Everything I'm looking at says 6:10 PM.

Also, Fox doesn't even have a game this evening, so why would it matter?

I made this post last week and got confirmation. Any sat games that start before 7pm are blacked out by Fox. This isn't fair as there is no games on Fox at this time. At least put in on at 7pm and join in progress. It should be on locally for you on Fox ohio if you live in the Cincy area. For me who live outside the area is blacked out. Not right. Hopefully they will switch this rule.

More fan friendliness... go figure. :thumbdown

I feel for you fans outside the FSN-OH area and wish "the system" was more friendly.

MLB rules say any games that start before 7PM ET on days Fox shows games are blacked out on Extra Innings. This year the Reds moved all the Saturday night start times to 6:10 so those will all be blacked out on Extra Innings.

Not likely. Fox paid a ton of money for those national broadcast rights and MLB will bend over backwards to accommodate them.

This royally sucks. I've missed the last 2 games and the team needs me. If mlbtv gets unblocked at 7 why can't FOX sportsnet. This issue should be taken care of !!!

Question, if I do a proxy from somewhere in the Cincy area if I can find one would I be able to view all the game on MLBTV?
