Whatever Matt - the shrine in your room doesn't do her justice.
And the restaining order was a nice touch....
(btw-I've never seen her either-seriously)
Matt should have. At least in a Christmas card from the Brennaman Family...
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.
There's a lot to blow up. There's a ton of talent on this team, and it's virtually all on the offense and none in pitching. It doesn't need to be blown up just reallocated.
You could see this June coming from a mile away on the schedule and it's here. Just hope to sit it out without going on a 10 game losing streak. And it doesn't matter if we're "buyers" or "sellers," it only matters if the balance of talent shifts on the roster towards pitching (even if it means waiting on said pitching to mature for next season).

I came to the conclusion after being at this game that I need to just enjoy the team and see whatever this season brings. I don't want to sacrifice the future to win this year. I want to work on building a good team and a system stocked with players moving up and improving and making the Reds organization a successful one.Originally Posted by Falls City Beer
We weren't supposed to win this year and I'll be happy to play above .500 and work towards the future. Not a fire sale thing, but strengthening the team in increments.
The home plate umpire was just awful - no consistancy at all.Originally Posted by CTA513
What about the play at second? Did Phillips have the guy? It sure looked like it from where I was sitting.
It was a good call. He got around the tag.Originally Posted by redsmetz

Alright I was at the game, so I have a few questions.
1. Was it just me or was Freel and Q called out on letter high pitches?
2. Did BP miss the tag on Dye?
3. DID JUNIOR SWING????
It was a great baseball game to be at, but I wish the result would have been different.
I watched most of the game on TV.Originally Posted by reds44
1. I can't recall this one, sorry.
2. BP missed the tag. Replay clearly showed it.
3. IMO he did swing although it was borderline.

I agree he should have appealed. I think dinner was getting cold for him and decided to end the game then.Originally Posted by reds44

Catcher requested the appeal, home plate called him out without an appeal.
