    Trivia Questions

Who are the only 2 major leaguers to have 2 different uniform numbers retired?

Which uniform number has been retired by the most teams?
More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

Number 42 for Jackie Robinson was a league-wide retirement. Is that where you were going with this one?

Frank Robinson and Babe Ruth (wild guesses I know).

#42 has been retired by ALL major league teams (in honor of Jackie Robinson).

Mariano Rivera still wears it. All #42 wearers were grandfathered in when this rule came into effect and he's the only one still playing. But it will be retired by the Yankees when Mo retires. So interestingly, the greatest closer of all time will never have his number retired (in his own honor).

    Re: Trivia Questions

If Jackie Robinson isn't the answer for the most [assuming he's disqualified since its by baseball and not the teams individually] I'd guess Nolan Ryan maybe ['Stros, Rangers, Angels?] Just a guess.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

no, not #42, should have specified that.

#2-I mean which number (1-99) has been retired the most.

    Re: Trivia Questions

I'll guess uniform #3 has been retired by the most teams.

My second guesses are 25 and 8.

    Re: Trivia Questions

#8 and #5 have been retired 7 times. The correct answer has been retired 8 times

    Re: Trivia Questions

    Ok, I get it now.

    (1) Nolan Ryan has #30 & #34 retired.
    (2) Is it #1 that has been retired 8 times?

I would guess that is the #1 - seven teams have it retired, including our own Cincinnati Reds.

Sorry, let me change that to which 3 players have had 2 numbers retired? Forgot Fisk
