Leadoff single and then three straight groundouts for Ward.

    8 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K, 11 GO/6 FO

Szymanski is 3-for-3 with three singles.

    Chick 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

    Votto 2-for-2 with a double(24) and single.

For some reason, the Dragons bring Ward back out for the 9th inning and he gives up a run on two hits and walked one.

    His final line:

    9 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 9 K, 12 GO, 6 FO

I hope they didn't make him throw an outrageous amount of pitches.

Baseball America said that Jordan Smith started out as a catcher/1B.

Did anyone hear why Milton Loo hasn't been playing?

I was surprised they brought him back to pitch the 9th and let him throw that many pitches in the 9th to walk a batter and give up two hits and get 3 outs. Hope he didn't over do it. With that said it was still a very nice line and it may be time to move him up to High A for a few starts and if he still pitches this well AA maybe a good place for him to finish the year.

Yeah the Paul Wilson lessen of to many innings between College/Minor Leagues cannot be told enough. Though Ward hasn't thrown to many innings or pitches over the last year.

MILB made a mistake and now fixed it.
    Wards final line: 8 IP, 2 Hits, 0 Runs, 1 BB, 7 K

Mallet pitched the 9th and gave up the run.

Good I hated to see him lose after that performance. Save that arm just a little too. Ward has a 1.7 something era over his last 55 plus innings.
