Any further word on what drew the trainers to the mound in the first?

Looking at their team stats, I would expect Homer to be able to have a good game against this team.
    Good call.

4th inning: Bailey gets a ground out to the second baseman. Ryan Braun jumps ahead 2-0 then fouls off the next pitch. Bailey throws one on the inside corner at 91 MPH for strike 2. Swing and a miss on a 94 MPH fastball that the announcer says he barely saw (implies the gun is wrong). Two outs. Fastball for ball 1 on the 3rd hitter of the inning. Foul ball behind the dugout to even up the count at 1-1. Homer misses inside for ball 2. Strike 2 swinging to even it up at 2-2. Pop up on the infield to end the inning. Bailey is through 4 innings.

Bailey comes out to face 7-8-9 in the bottom of the 5th.
First up is SS Rodriguez. First pitch is outside for ball 1. Next pitch is a foul out of play to even the count up 1-1. Swing and a miss for strike two. Ball 2 low. Strike three on the inside.
Second batter is RF Ezi. First pitch is a strike at 96 MPH. Second pitch is ball 2. Foul ball toward third for a 1-2 count. Swing and a miss for strikeout number 6 for Homer.
Third batter is the pitcher Thurman. The pitcher starts off the count ahead 2-0. Foul ball straight back for strike 1. Another foul straight back to even the count at 2-2. Tapper to third for the 3rd out of the inning.
