I really wish one of minor league teams would come back to Rockford. I was too young to be interested in it when it was, but I would love to go check out some games now.

Seriously. The fan support is there. They average over 8k per game still don't they? I think Lexington only seats ~6k as currently configured. Dayton needs to be AA.

Then you have to convince some other AA team to give up their franchise. And it would have to be a Eastern Laegue team.... Unbelievably long odds of that occurring.

Not that anyone in Ohio would want to hear it, but I have a better chance of seeing the AA franchise then you guys. Rumors are floating that Dodgers will abandon Vero Beach as their Spring Training site ande go to Arizona. If that happens, they'd probably go to a California League High A team also.

Their AA team is Jacksonville. Rather than have one team on east coast, they might move their AA team to Texas league. Already a subject of concern in Jax.

And someone would have to come to Jacksonville. Chattanooga just signed up for two more years but had been inclined to go elsewhere until Castellini weaved his magic.

But I could see Reds moving AA to Jacksonville, so that they's have the KY/OH hub (Reds, Bats. Dragons) and a Florida hub (Sarasota ST, Sarasota Reds A, Sarasota Reds GCL, and AA Jacksonville)

A long shot...... but far less of a long shot then Lexington or Dayton

If I were the Reds, I'd pounce on Vero Beach.

    Just a thought.

Well... it will be interesting to see if Sarasota can come up with the needed money to keep Reds even though state has agreed to pay a portion. If Dodgers moved and funding fell through......

Could Vero come up with an acceptable package? I'm not sure I'm crazy about current facility in Vero.

I'd hate to see what happened to Cocoa happen to Vero.
