CINCINNATI, Ohio – Reds Hall of Famer George Foster will make appearances at Great American Ball Park this Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2 when the Reds host the Cleveland Indians.

Foster will greet fans and sign autographs on the Great American Ball Park Fan Zone, beginning one hour prior to each game. Game time is 6:10 p.m. on Saturday and 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. The Big Red Machine left fielder and 1977 National League MVP will return during the seventh inning and remain until the conclusion of each game, as well.

Foster will be sign baseballs, photos and copies of the “Clutch Hits” CD. “Clutch Hits,” presented by Buddy Roger’s Music, is a compilation CD of baseball-related songs featuring such nationally known performers as Peter Frampton and Blessid Union of Souls.

Proceeds from the autographs and “Clutch Hits” CD sales benefit the Reds Community Fund and its baseball-themed outreach programs. The Community Fund underwrites expenses for 12 inner-city youth baseball organizations, provides funding for inner-city ball field maintenance, and hosts the Reds Rookie Success League, a noncompetitive, coed, character-building summer baseball league for at-risk kids ages 8-13. George Foster has served as the Commissioner of the Reds Rookie Success League since the program’s inception in 2003.

Reds Game-Used Equipment Available at Saturday Auction

“Silent Auction Saturdays” return to Great American Ball Park tomorrow, July 1, 2006, when the Reds host the Cleveland Indians at 6:10 p.m.

Each auction takes place at the Reds Community Fund concourse booth, located behind section 120 by Gapper’s Alley. Bidding begins when the gates open at 4:10 p.m. and concludes after the final out of the sixth inning.

The auctions are a joint fundraising effort benefiting the Reds Community Fund and the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation. In three years, the collaboration has raised more than $110,000.

I've been to GABP so many times I can't believe I'm asking this, but where is the Fan Zone?

Is it that area between the Sun/Moon Deck and the Reds Hall of Fame with the pitching and run the bases and everything?

Its the zone directly to the left of the friends-zone, which is a place no guy ever wants to end up. But if you get to the twilight zone, you've gone too far. Backtrack, turn left at Autozone and it should dead-end in the endzone. Just make sure you are in the correct time-zone, or else zoning laws may apply.
