Fox TV would have us believe that "JB" is their studio analyst James Brown. I've never believed it.

Did the "Real" James Brown ever go by "JB?"

Come to think of it, not even sure if the original Parrothead himself has ever been referred on a regular basis as JB either!

Where is that shaker of salt anyway...

Just tuned in to Cowherd and heard him comparing the AL West to mediocre restaurants. So I will have to pass on JB today, Cowherd will make a fool of himself and then go back to talking about football, which he supposedly knows a lot about.
More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

I think football bein popular is a creation of the media. I'm not saying its not popular, I'm saying that there are a great many who just buy the hype that Fox and other outlets sell.

'TV said it's good, so it must be the top sport, I'll watch every Sunday, and Saturady, and Thursday night, and Monday.'

I don't mind football, don't get me wrong....Who Dey and all that.....but still, the two [baseball and football] don't compare [baseball IS America] and Cowherd is a moron for feeding the beast.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, but I've been led to believe that this spring/summer there has been MUCH, MUCH more talk on sports radio and other media outlets about the Bengals and Carson Palmer's health than anything the Reds have done this year. Basically that baseball is all but a joke out in the rest of the country other than Boston and New York

Are all those Bengal fans feeding the beast?

No no, I'm not saying the perception that football is king is incorrect, I'm saying that the reason it is king is because its was created. The same way that ESPN makes Barry Bonds a story on a nightly basis, they turned football into America's game.

Yeah, there has been talk about Carson and the Bengals, but not more so than baseball. Though the training camp commericals have already started.

I guess at root what I'm saying is that baseball wouldn't be 'devalued' if not for the hype machines that people started to follow. Lemmings over the cliff as it were.....

    Just saying.
