Cueto beaned the first hitter but then got a double play and lineout.

Cueto has struggled horribly with command tonight. He's already hit two batters and walked the 8-9-1 hitters consecutively. Command had not been a problem for him all year until tonight.

The Reds promoted the wrong pitcher.

Votto just homered in his first atbat tonight. Number 16 for Joey.

I said the same thing when the move was made. Cueto has only thrown 80 innings above rookie ball, no need to rush him. Ward should have been the one promoted.

Steve Kelly should soon be given a shot as the long reliever on the Reds.

Outfielder Chris Denorfia, who was a late scratch with back stiffness, is day-to-day.
I haven't seen this posted anywhere. This is from the Courier-Journal's recap of last night's Bats game. Hopefully he won't be out too much longer.

I thought both Ward and Fisher should have been moved up before Cueto. Both are older pitchers. Hopefully, they will gradually all be moved up. Perhaps the Reds are waiting for some guys at Billings to show that they can handle A ball, move them to Dayton, then move up some Dayton guys.
