    Thanks for your insight CV..

Superdude, I know its early in the rookie season.. but it concerns me when a "the best" positional prospect out of the collegiate ranks struggles in ROOKIE ball.. a league he should thouroughly dominate IMO.

I'm still in the camp that thinks we missed the boat.. Lincecum was there.

Stubbs has been a disappointment so far. No power, though he has walked some, which is a ok sign I guess. But he should be firing out of the gate like Parker. Bad BJ feeling from him especially since Bailey and Bruce have looked like prototypes, teams usually don't hit on 1st rounders three years in a row.

True -- 3 straight bullseyes on 1st rounders is a lot to expect. But the reports on Stubbs indicated that he might be slow to develop with the bat. His value lies primarily on defense -- he is a "plus-plus" defender in CF, so he will advance based on that alone. I'd expect it will be years before you see anything real interesting out of his bat, and it may not come until he's in the majors, if at all. Still, unless he experiences abject failure offensively and loses faith in himself, I think Stubbs will be able to move level by level and maintain his prospect status. He's a great athlete who can play in the middle of the field and, unlike BJ, he has proven that at the highest level of the college game. I'm not concerned about him at all at this point.

I'm still a little upset about not picking Lincecum also, but one hot streak this early in the season and Stubb's numbers look great.
