    Job offer

    Hi guys,

Today I received an offer for a new job. If they offered me the job, have they already done a backround and reference check? I am not sure when to give my notice to my current employer. My offer was verbal and my future boss told me the letter would be mailed to my house. If I did not receive it soon enough, he told me just to bring it back on my start date(which we already agreed on). Is it safe to give my notice? Thanks

Absolutely... better safe (employed) than sorry (not employed).

    Congrats on your new job!

    Congratulations!

If they've made a job offer, they've already done a background and reference check. If your employer requires a drug test, that will be the next step. Usually, you're officially hired once the results of that test are in.
