    Sidney Ponson

Any interest in this guy? I didn't see it posted but he was DFA'd by the Cards...

Hmm...he's better than most of our pen. At the least he can't do any worse.

He probably won't be happy in the pen. He was upset when the Cards put him in the pen earlier this year.

Even though he may better than a few of our pitchers right now, there's no way the front office trades for him. They'd look like a bunch of hypocrites considering Sidney Ponson looks like he ate Josh Hancock.

    Hello anybody,
They said I needed to post or make comment. Nobody talks to me anyway but could Ponson help us in anyway?

I think the two situations are completely different. Hancock was coming off a season where he didn't play much because of injuries. The Reds wanted him to come into spring training in shape because of that. Ponson's situation is different because he is just overweight to begin with.

WB BeetleBug. He might help if he went to the pen and didn't cost much.

I don't think this is the direction the Reds want to go. While its obvious that we need pitching help I don't think this is the answer.

dont think the reds would sign Sydney, the ascetic, emaciated look is what the team desires. Hancock was cut because of gluttony, Yan , of course, the paragon of abstemious caloric intake was signed. Ponson would be a good "fit" with Calvin Pickering returning

We don't need someone with as much baggage as big Sidney. And when I say "baggage I am not talking about his weight."

while i agree with that, ponson has been fat for a long time. hancock didn't come into spring at the weight cincinnati expected. if we were to bring sid in we know what we would be getting. of course there would be some pissed players at the buffet line after the games if sid is done early!
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008
