    Favorite double play combo

There is nothing quite as beautiful in baseball than a perfectly turned double-play (IMO). Especially in slow-mo it seems like the players are gracefully flowing as they leap, twist, jump, dodge, throw and catch the ball.

The one Philips and Castro turned a few days ago definatley qualifies as a thing of baseball beauty.

    So.....

What baseball combo do you think was best at turning a double play? Judge what makes them best on your own...whether it be the number turned, the consistancy of turning them, just how smooth they did it or whatever.

An optional sub-topic might be who is your favorite Reds double-play combo?
a super volcano of ridonkulous suckitude.

I simply don't have access to a "cares about RBI" place in my psyche. There is a "mildly curious about OBI%" alcove just before the acid filled lake guarded by robot snipers with lasers which leads to the "cares about RBI" antechamber though. - Nate

I agree. When it came to turning two, it was Maz at second and almost anybody at shortstop.

I never saw them in person, but wouldn't this thread be incomplete without mention of Tinker-Evers?

They would get my vote. There was something magical about watching those two turn a double play.
