Bill Hall should be on the All-Star team.

I have a platform and a message, and now I go to bed at night, sober and happy, praying I can be a good messenger." -Josh Hamilton
If I had my druthers, none of the Reds would play in the AS game. Despite Bud's protestations to the contrary, this one doesn't count, but does provide each player another shot at getting injured. If Edwin had sprained his ankle in the ASG...
"It's easier to give up. I'm not a very vocal player. I lead by example. I take the attitude that I've got to go out and do it. Because of who I am, I've got to give everything I've got to come back."

So this one counts for the 28 teams that aren't going to reach the WS?Originally Posted by dabvu2498

Where's Narron in all this? He's on Garner's AS coaching staff...why isn't he in Garner's grill lobbying for BP?
For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.
Can't disagree with that notion, but we don't know who the two teams that are going to make it are right now either.Originally Posted by zombie-a-go-go
It's an imperfect system at best. The only way to really make it matter to manager/coaches and players is to throw a bunch of money out there for the winners and I'm pretty sure I don't want to see that either.
I'd almost rather see it go back to the fun/laugh fest that it had become before it "counted" and just chalk it up as a true exhibition and nothing more.

maybe because he doesn't deserve to make it?Originally Posted by max venable

When a player who was voted in by the players and coaches drops out, they always go first to the player who got the next most votes at the same position. When Contreras dropped out, they asked Schilling first to replace him because he had the next most votes at the same position. When he also couldn't pitch, then they asked Liriano. And Eckstein had the next highest vote total at SS behind Reyes and Renteria.
