One of the no-shows at the NL player interviews was Bronson Arroyo, the former Sox pitcher who led the NL players' ballots in votes cast for starting pitchers. Bronson was scheduled to make himself available in about a half an hour. Big Papi mentioned that he'd been out with Arroyo at a party last night, so while the official reason for Bronson's absence was that he was nursing a cold, that elicited a few chuckles around here.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Bronson would have been the designated driver on a night like that. Ortiz probably had him back at hotel baby sitting his kids.

Sounds like Bronson is still fawning over anyone wearing a Red Sox hat. That little tramp needs some self-esteem....

Oh well... better to be drunk as a skunk than out meeting "a companion" through an on-line dating service. As long as he is smart enough not to drive or defend drunk friends... right, Mr. Freel?

He must have got REALLY messed up. He didn't even want to pitch.

No, Arroyo was hoping to get the night off mainly because he's been having so much ... fun in Pittsburgh.

"I just went out too hard the other night," Arroyo said. "I told him if he can get by without me, get by without me."

He pitched pretty good with his hangover. He needs to liquor up before every start.

they just mentioned on PTI that Bronson thought he was too hungover to pitch from hitting the bars Sunday night.

pretty stupid if you ask me.
