[Houston Radio] Astros get Huff from TB

Sports Radio 610 in Houston is reporting that a press conference is scheduled for 9:30 this morning at Minute Maid Park to make a 'major announcement'. Rumblings have been that Miguel Tejada could be en route to Houston. No confirmation yet, though.

I called this one two weeks ago.

I definitely see this happening. It makes all kinds of sense. And should be enough to put them over the top.

that would be a major coup for the Stros as Tejada is exactly what they need. He would be a slight downgrade defensively but a huge offensive upgrade who would fit in nicely behind Berkman.

    Probably not much more.

It is Baltimore after all. And Miggy's got a big price tag.

Sure can't hurt them but I don't know if it automatically puts them over the top.

Still a 2man pitching show this year, Oswald and Clemens. A bad bullpen and now a 2 man ofense in Berkman and Tejada.

I guess in this division that could be enough but still some major holes in that team.

... which is not surprising, however, he would still instantly become the best hitting SS in the NL by a bunch.

If this deal does go down, we will get to see how serious Krivsky is about making the post season this year. What will he do to counter? It should be interesting.
