Ensberg must be hurt, because why else would you bench a guy with an OPS near .900?

Ensberg>Huff, even when Ensberg is slumping, unless you are into "BA as being King".

To give up prospects to sit a better player????

The problem with acquiring Huff is it means either he or Lance Berkman has to play the OF.

Berkman ain't a problem in the outfield, when you apply some of this board's standards for outfield play, particularly a corner.

LF perhaps, but Berkman will be playing more RF now.

It's mostly a problem for reasons of health. Berkman's legs are going fast, as are Huff's.

As for his standard of play out there, he's been on a backwards force march for a few years now. Put it to you this way, I'm plenty unhappy about Adam Dunn's fielding this season (because he should be getting better in the OF at this point in his career and not worse), but I'd rather have him out there than Berkman at this point. Huff's always been a butcher in the field wherever he plays. Plus, Berkman hasn't gotten many reps in the OF this season and I'm guessing you're looking at an ugly transition if you stick him out there.

Huff has been pretty solid in the past, and he's still young. He had a LaRue-esque start to his season, missing the first part, then slumping out of the gate. He was pretty darn good from 2002-2004- perhaps the change in leagues and move to a better hitter's park would be good for him.

I think this helps Houston in the present pretty well. Although Huff's glove sounds like a problem.
