Derricks of to a promising start and these are his Dayton's numbers. The walks are high but he has been composed and has to be looked at as a fast riser for RP help for down the line. As a college signee he has the ability to jump levels and must be taken seriously for the pen as early as 2008 and more realisticly 2009 as a main stay.

Re: PROSPECT:19 564 Derrik Lutz rhp George Washington DC (Cape Cod League)

My baby adoptee got his taste of pro mlb baseball or in this case upper level minor leaguer's. His line today versus the Twins was painful but a lesson on what it's going to take .

    Lutz 1.0 3 3 3 1 1 0 27.00

I have great belief in Derrik and will wish him well but yes today he was playing above his element at this time. Go Derrik GO!
