My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!
Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
Cincinnati Bengals - None
Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98
When all is said and done more is said than done.
I don't know if this is sizzle or not. Other than Cincinnati Reds fans, honestly i don't think people care that much. Rose is still living in 1988, thinking he might have a WS contender on his hands.
But to Reds fans, those still living in the era of Pete's haircut, this is a big deal. It's recognition of one of THE faces of the Reds. These people buy tickets too ya know. Promotion, any promotion that brings the press running to talk about the Reds is good.
Maybe this move means nothing, but it's better than nothing by virtue of the fact that we are discussing it. And it will be discussed by thousands more tomorrow.
Suck it up cupcake.
I've met Rob and when I did, he was a tremendous individual. I met him during the beginning of the '04 season when he visited Moeller's newspaper staff, and I came away impressed. Perhaps it was because he was the first individual I met from the front office or perhaps he was just a good guy. He seems to be knowledgable and to get rid of him just to get rid of the old regime doesn't make much sense to me. He isn't very involved with the actual baseball side of things at all.
Pete Rose won't be any different than Joe Jackson. It'd be shocking if he's ever reinstated or elected to the Hall of Fame, and it'd be even more shocking if any of that happens during our lifetime.
Barry Larkin - HOF, 2012
Put an end to the Lost Decade.
Marc's blog confirms that the team asked for MLB's blessing on this and got it. MLB's position is that displays recognizing Pete's place in team history are okay.
Also, Pete is sick and will not be attending, contrary to reports.
Makes all the routine posts.

Help stamp out, eliminate, and do away with redundancy.
The Rally Onion wants 150 fans before Opening Day.
A Pete Rose exhibit at the Reds HOF? It's a sure-fire way to lure fans down to the ballpark . . . without actually having to, you know, improve the team.
It's the Power of Tradition!
Cedric 3/24/08It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
