    Trade Offer Advice

I was offered Aarong Harang and Edgar Renteria for Roy Halladay. I do need some help at SS/MI so Renteria is very attractive because of his OBP and Runs scored. Harang is an upgrade in K's but that's about it although not too much of a dropoff from Halladay.

That said I'm concerned what type of second half Harang will turn in. Last season he struck out batters at 50% the rate he did in the first half. Will he revert back?

    Thoughts?

Tough call. Who do you have at SS/MI now? Is it that bad? If it is, this might be something that could help.

I'd personally have a hard time giving up Halladay as my team has struggled with SP's all year. Who are the rest of your starters? Need to know more about your team before I can really advise on what I would do.

Since I can't view my team from work (dang filters) I'll have to go by memory:

    2B: Dan Uggla
    SS: Freddy Sanchez
    MI: Felipe Lopez

    As for pitchers, I'm deep.

SP: Halladay, Liriano, Jered Weaver, Robertson, Peavy, Kazmir, Bedard, Olsen
    CL: Papelbon, Jenks, Saito

Our scoring is H2H with Runs, HR, RBI, SB and OBP for hitters and W, Sv, K, ERA and WHIP for pitchers.

It seems like a top-tier pitcher like Halladay should bring back some top-tier talent in return. While I like Renteria and Harang, I don't think they're equal value to Halladay.

Do NOT do the trade. You're fine with Uggla, Sanchez and Felipe. Those threee combined should give you power (HR/RBI), and speed (R, SB). The only thing I could see missing is OBP, and I don't think Renteria is THAT much of an upgrade in OBP to make that trade.

Your pitching staff is simply devestating. You're set.

If I did anything with that team, I might try and deal Felipe and Robertson to a team that is desperate for pitching to see if I could upgrade at MI.

Take the trade. Renteria will put up solid numbers always.
