A good question, and not an easy answer, Matt. There were a couple of "others" who I had to consider.
Oh, and Matt, expect a very angry call from Jerry for not even putting Rich on the ballot. Sheesh

    Adam Dunn.

He leads the team in almost every statistic category, and is among the top 10 leaders in the NL in the following categories: runs scored, walks, RBI, home runs, slugging, OPS, RC/27, and runs created. He is 32nd among all major leaguers in VORP.

    Brandon Phillips comes in second.

I'm splitting my vote between Harang and Arroyo. Where would the Reds be without the two of them?

I'd pick Harang over Arroyo at this point.

However, both have been keys to this teams success.

    Re: Mvp

Each player has definitely made huge contributions in their own way. Freel provides energy for the team, either with his speed, showing a little pop in his bat at times, or running through walls to make a great play on defense.
When BP is going good, he's GREAT. He looks like he'll be a future gold glover with some of his flashy plays at second. And he's carried the offense through a few games.
From a statistical standpoint, Dunn is probably the leading candidate just because he puts up such huge numbers offensively.
A player like Hatte has been extremely valuable this year too(and at a value of a price).
Harang has made a strong case with his pitching.
But sheerly from a numbers standpoint, I have to go with Dunn.

    Re: Mvp

I will go with Aaron Harang. Adam Dunn is a VERY close 2nd, and the rest of the season can still sway one way or the other.

I went with Phillips...but that's just because I love me some Brandon Phillips.

Dunn is the choice over Harang for me, due to his everydayness.
