Only standing room only tickets are available for tomorrow's (Saturday) 6:10 p.m. game vs the Brewers...the expected sellout would be the Reds' fourth of this season at Great American Ball Park and the facility’s 28th sellout overall.

Why the sellout? Are they giving away something?
Mays and Wise, hopefully.Originally Posted by OnBaseMachine
I don't think so....but it's good to know a sellout can happen without giving away free stuffOriginally Posted by OnBaseMachine
What are they giving away to make it a sell out?
Marc is reporting they are only selling standing room only seats now.. All other seats have been bought.

They are giving away little Corvettes to kids but that's all I can think of. It's a family night too where head of household pays full price and everyone else pays half. Maybe that's it.Originally Posted by RedsMan3203

Trying to laugh to keep from crying but how in the name of all that's holy could our ownership let Joe freakin Mays pitch in front of a sell out crowd in a game that at worst we'll be tied for the lead in the wild card race and with innocent children clutching their new Reds Hot Wheels on hand to witness the carnage. Is that the image of Reds baseball we want burned into the minds of our youth?
Sad truly sad.

I think it would be cool to have a promotion where they randomly select someone from the stands to come out and pitch. They could put them up on the big screen and then announce the winner right before game time. As they trot down to the field they could have Mays come out and get ready to take some notes. He might pick up a thing or two.
Sure would be a lot more fun that that goofy guy who does the "live spots" for Skyline Chil Shuffle, The big red sofa, etc.
The cheerleaders, however, they could stand to get a lot more air time on the big screen.
That's what it is. Those things sell like hot cakes. When General Mills was putting the little Matchbox cars in their cereal boxes for a couple of months, my cereal was essentially free because I was making about $3.00 profit on eBay for each one.Originally Posted by Chip R
