Another very good start for Bailey... He's exceeding all expectations that I had for him...

Funny thing is, Homer has put up his best numbers in AA: 30.2 17H .89ERA 31K 6B. I guess he was just 'working' on stuff in high A.
Good rebound year, looks to have the makings of a good #2 down the line if the Reds hold on to him.
Different atmosphere, better fields, better defense.Originally Posted by Aronchis
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.
Anderson Machado hit a 2 out solo homerun in the 9th to tie the game 1-1.
The Lookouts are about to go into extra innings.
I am glad to see Homer got taken off the hook.
Love that Homer is going nuts in AA.

What's this about a 79MPH changeup? Unless his arm speed is just pathetic, that velocity drop off is fantastic.
superdude, I heard on the radio broadcast that the radar gun was 4mph slow, so what they said was a 79MPH change was probably 83ish.

If he's throwing mid 90's, that's still good.
Lately he has been sitting 95-98 with his FB

A good #2?? Man that #1 guy must walk on water or something -- like Chris Denorfria deciding to become a starter or somethingOriginally Posted by Aronchis
I know it's totally irrelevant so long as performs at the ML level, but #2? I'd be hard pressed to name more than a handful of pitching prospects with higher ceilings than Bailey right now.Originally Posted by Aronchis
I find it interesting that his K numbers stayed low until later in the game today (He only had 3Ks through the first 5 innings) -- I wonder if that's possibly due to him being instructed to concentrate on breaking pitches and off-speed deliveries while hes still fresh in the early innings, but then being given the green light to throw more fastball and be more pitch-efficient as the game wears on. That'd be nice if it were the case, because he had a low-K outing last go around and this one looked to be on the same pace until he got through the lineup again in the 6th and 7th innings.
Kid is still clearly not ready for primetime, but I imagine they'll have a tough time justifying not taking him north out of spring training to start next season.

I saw him in the futures game throwing that hard, but I thought it was just because of adrenaline and only having to throw an inning. So he's actually throwing that hard consistently?Lately he has been sitting 95-98 with his FB
