Bailey's breaking pitch hasn't been working the last 2 starts. He would be getting shelled if he only could throw average fastballs. Now we see why Krivsky isn't even thinking about bringing Bailey up this year.

Thanks for the PBP doug. Bailey looks to have great stuff once again. Any word on the caliber of competition he is facing tonight.

Aronchis, Bailey seems to be throwing quite a few offspeed pitches tonight. This is the second time he has faced this team on the year, so they have seen him before. Jacksonville has the best record in the second half so far at 17-11, so I would imagine they are a good team.

    Chattanooga PBP
Joey Votto leads off the 6th inning for the Lookouts. Votto smashed one off of the wall for a stand up double. Opposite field off the wall 382 feet away....very impressive.
Noochie Varner comes in with Votto on second and no out. Ground ball to the right side, Votto over to third with 1 out. Lets get him in boys!
Rick Asadoorian comes up with Votto on third but strikes out.
Anderson Machado comes up with the hopes of breaking this scoreless game. Machado robbed of another hit by the first baseman but ends the inning again.
SCORE 0-0 heading into the bottom of 6

Jacksonville is second in team Average, first in OBP, second in SLG, scores the most runs by far. They have scored 483 runs this year, Chattanooga is in 2nd and has scored just 422. So Jacksonville is probably the best offensive team in the league.

    Bailey still on the mount.
    1. Pinch hitter. Missed the first 2 pitches, but they were both strikes. Ball 1 low. Foul ball, 1-2 count. Ball 2. Foul ball in foul ground and Votto cant quite get to it. Swing and a miss for strike 3. Bailey now has 3 strikeouts on the night.
    2. Breaking ball low for ball 1. Foul ball for strike 1. Swing and a miss on a fastball. Foul ball on another fastball. Breaking ball looking for strike 3. Announcer talks about how NASTY the pitch is. That is 4 strikeouts.
    3. Ball 1 high. Inside for ball 2. Pop up in foul territory and Votto gets to this one. End of the inning.
    SCORE 0-0 after 6 innings.

Javier Colina ground out on the first pitch of the 7th inning.
Miguel Perez steps in and crushes one into deep right center but its caught on the warning track by the Right Fielder.
Homer Bailey steps in and hits for himself. Looks like he will be pitching the 7th. Bailey is gone for the 3rd out of the inning.
SCORE 0-0 in the middle of the 7th

If we don't find an adequate 5th starter, Homer may force his way to the bigs this year.

    Chattanooga PBP
    Bailey still in
    1. Strike 1. Ball 1 high. Ball 2. Falls in for a hit right in front of Noochie Varner.
    2. Foul ball straight back, strike 1. Strike 2 for an 0-2 count. Pitch out for ball 1 as the runner stayed put. Runner goes but the pitch is fouled back. Runner back to first. Fastball right by him for Homers 5th strikeout of the night. 1 out.
    3. Swing and a foul ball for strike 1. Off speed pitch freezes the batter who looks at it for strike 2. Swing and a miss for strike 3. Now 6 strike outs for Homer.
    4. Up and in and hits the batter. Runners on first and second now.
    5. Ball 1. Strike 1 to even the count at 1-1. In the dirt for ball 2, Miguel Perez blocks it. Strike 2 on a fastball by Homer. 2 outs, 2-2 count, 2 runners on.... in the dirt for ball 3. The batter has yet to swing. Full count for Bailey, 2 runners on. Needs just 1 more strike. Foul ball off Perez's glove. Full count again. Swing and a line drive, base hit. 1-0 Jacksonville.

Brock Till now pitching for the Lookouts.
    6. High and outside, ball 1. Strike 1 to even up the count. Low for ball 2. Foul tip for strike 2, and the count evens up at 2-2. Ground ball to Machado to end the inning.
SCORE 1-0 Jacksonville after 7 inning.

Chattanooga has the top of the line up coming up.

I am done for the night with PBP, if anyone wants to take over, I am headiing out. Hope the Lookouts can put some runs up for Homer and get him off the hook

    Baileys final line.
