in return for 2 minor leaguers per ESPN
Wish we could of outbid them, he would of been a great addition to the pen

And more than likely a great addition to Dr.Kremchek's stable as well.
Williamson was traded to San Diego for minor league pitching prospects Fabian Jimenez Angulo and Joel Santo, the Cubs' official web site reports.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Two A-ballers, huh?
Gosh, that market for middle relievers is really set high!

Yea, middle relievers with a 10.12ERA over the last 10 games and 7.71 over the last month. He's given up 14hits in 8 innings pitched over his last 10 games.Originally Posted by Johnny Footstool

Almost as good as Majewski, huh?Originally Posted by Ltlabner

Yeah.. but he also has twice as many innings and only costs 17% of what Williamson costs.Originally Posted by Johnny Footstool
Majewski cost more talent than dollars. Dollars are easier to come by.Originally Posted by westofyou

Yes. I predicted a couple days ago that there would be at least one more reliever traded for little return.. well, here it is. Williamson isn't exactly a sure thing, but it's not like Majewski is "lights out" either.Originally Posted by Johnny Footstool

I think this trade is shoring up the bullpen for when they trade Linebrink to the Sox for Lowell. That's a great get for the the Sox. I really wish Linebrink was a Red.
While he hasn't really done too hot since he's been here, he certinally didn't have a 7 ERA over his last month of pitching with his ERA over the last 10 games climing to 10+ at the time of the trade.Almost as good as Majewski, huh?
The Reds need a starter more than a reliever and that was true before the Nats deal.
They needed both, the team was weighed down by over 30 relievers with no stuff and tweener youths with no stuff.Originally Posted by flyer85

Dubito Ergo Cogito Ergo Sum.
It's not smart to trade "meat" for "bread" when bread is cheap and plentiful.Originally Posted by westofyou
