Jeff Francis is pitching a (blank) against the Cards.

Just thought I'd let you all know, without jinxing it, that Jeff Francis of the Rockies is pitching a P------ G--- through 5 innings now against the Cards, the Rocks are up 4-0 in the bottom of the 5th right now. It may be a bit premature, but if his masterpiece falls apart I figured we can at least track the game, since it's every bit as important as the WC race IMO.

Welp...I thought I worded it carefully enough to not jinx it.

I think "blank" gave it away. So no more no-no threads starters for you.

As long as the Rockies beat the Cardinals I don't care if Francis gives up a hit to everyone on the roster.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

He's through six now with the only hit being a weak flare that dropped in.

Maaannnnn, I thought about not starting it at all, then I thought I'd go your route and just start a kind of "game thread" and then I decided to go with "descriptive" yet "keep the baseball gods guessing" thing.

As usual, I made the wrong decision.

Mini-cards implosion occuring 6-0. Duncan dropped routine fly ball to allow a run.

poor Duncan.... some power ranking had text along this line: "Everyday is father's day for pitching coach Duncan of the Cards who gets to watch his son grow up into a bona-fide major league player"

Jeff Francis is good. CGSO. I wonder if the Rox would go for a Bailey/Bruce for Francis deal?
