Bats have put 2 quick ones on the board. Hopper drove the first pitch of the game into center. Olmedo walked, Kata moved them over with a long fly out. Gutierrez hit a ground rule double to left center to score the two runs.

Gutierrez seems to have a decent bat. If Aurilia is dealt (doubtful) could Jesse serve as a RH bat off the bench/1st base platoon?

I could see Gutierrez as a backup 1B in the Majors. I don't think his ceiling goes any higher, but he could be a useful backup. Since he's not on the 40 man right now I don't see him getting a callup though.

Bats open the 3rd with a HBP, error, single, and 4 pitch bases loaded walk. Now that's scrappy! 3-3 tie, still no outs.

The incompetent grounds crew hasn't been able to get the tarp across the infield, the first base side is getting soaked right now. Expect a somewhat lengthy delay. There are actually people coming out of the stands to help drag the tarp across.

Rain update - apparently the field was just about dry, the Bisons new pitcher was warming up, and the rain started again. Back into a delay, though they do anticipate getting the game in today.
