Re: 7/27 Game Thread: Reds VS Astros

Have you seen the other teams in this league?

Even if you believe this 2.5 game is pure bunk, if a team can get lucky for 100 games they can get lucky for 60 more. That is reason enough to have some fun with it.

I don't find the Reds to be lucky other than playing in the NL. I just think we are a barely above average team in a miserable league.

Falling apart may be the next step in your mind, but I don't see it in these guys. Teams of the past you mention never led the WC in August. This team is a weekend series in MIL away from doing that very thing. They may not make the playoffs, they may not even be around by September, but this year is different already.

I don't believe FCB would be "happy" even if the REDS did win a WS as it would meean that they couldn't do it next year.

Then they're just like those other teams.

I don't like people labeling FCB as someone that wouldn't be happy with a Reds WS. Just because you aren't doing back flips over this team doesn't mean you want them to lose.

I disagree with him on this team, but he's entitled to an opinion on our chances without being labeled an anti Reds fan.

Harang is nice to have around. So that's different.

Are you asking: what would make them good?

    In that case, more starters.

Why you gotta be such an anti-Redite?

I don't think the point made was that the guy is anti-Reds. It seems from this poster's standpoint that he just chooses to look at the down side of things more often than the alternative. And if someone points that out in a way that's clearly an attempt at humor, then I don't think that's really out of line, do you?

No. I really think some people believe FCB wants the Reds to lose lol.

I don't tend to believe that
