Why don't the Reds ever wear their all red hats?

I've been wondering that since these uniforms came out in 1999. Since they're apparently changing the uniforms for next year, it looks like that cap will have never been worn on the field. Makes you wonder why they even listed it as a game cap. I think I've read somewhere that they were used for a game or two, but I didn't see it nor have I seen a photo.

Help stamp out, eliminate, and do away with redundancy.

Don't know. The last time I remember them wearing the all red hats was Easter of 2000.

Don't ask me how I remember that, I just do.

They've worn it a few times, but not for a long time. If I were a betting man, I'd bet that we will be seeing a lot of all red caps with the new uniforms.

SUMMER OF '69: Richard Nixon was in the first year of his presidency. Neil Armstrong had walked on the moon. And the Amazin' Mets were roaring toward a world title.

That's the era Mets management wanted to recall Tuesday night with its “Turn Back the Clock” promotion, which included both teams wearing replicas of their 1969 uniforms. Cincinnati was decked in fake gray flannel and all-red caps, while the Mets wore pinstripe outfits.

That uniform looks pretty darn authentic.

Yep, those look like the wool blend used in the late 60's. Probably the best looking material ever used for uniforms

Griffey looks like he's wearing pajamas.

If we go to a more old-school look--which I'm betting is what Castellini has in mind--something has GOT to be done about the sock issue.

Those uniforms were not that baggy in 1969.

Oh, I just think ballplayers ought to look like ballplayers. High socks mandatory. Probably impossible in this day and age, however.

It's one of my quirks, but I like the baggy pants. The stirrups made as much sense as wearing a necktie. The tall one-piece one-color stocks aren't so bad, though.

How the players should wear them? Just look at Randy's kid in his avatar...
