Will the Reds make a trade today?

I hope the Reds do make a trade today, but I'm not so sure it's going to happen.

I could see us picking up Redman, Leiber, or another SP that would only cost 2 marginal prospects. Yet, I see other teams probably willing to pay more than us (in terms of prospects) and being more aggressive. So, I am going to vote "no", in hopes of being wrong. I'd love to get a guy (even like Redman) because with Claussen's health questionable, and Gernamo not being the answer, we really need a body in the #5 slot.

It's going to be fun to see how the Soriano sweepstakes pans out today as well.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

I voted yes just because I would like to see us involved in something today that can help us out.

I know for a fact that I won't get much done at work today reading up on trades up until 4.

Are the Reds now done though is the next question.

Wow, you must be psychic. It's too bad you didn't say it was a lefty, that would have been really impressive.

That will prove over the next 6 hours to be the 17 million dollar question.

Re: Will the Reds make a trade today?

LOL, well maybe we can change the poll to "will the Reds acquire a starting pitcher?"

Cormier is a solid pickup, however, starting pitching remains the biggest need. I hope Wayne isn't going to stand pat in that area just because Claussen had a decent outing at Louisville a few days ago.

According to 1530, there is a 5:00 news conference.

There has to be something else coming because if Wayne was done, he'd just announce it now AND Cormier by himself isn't worthy of a news conference.

This might just be an interesting day afterall.

Was there a presser for Eddie Guardado?

I don't believe for him himself there was. There was a conference to go over all the moves that day and he was one of them.
