Teams aren't that unsofisticated. There's info on all players. They can quickly review any game they want on video and see exactly what they want to see.

    True, most are very prophesional.

I've drunk the cool aid. After bashing Lohse for years, I'm now starting him this week on my fantasy league with his 2 starts this week.

I'm in first place in a league with hundreds of dollars at stake. So I'm really betting with my heart. Stupid.

I'm a lohser baby... so why don'tya kill me. Go crazy with the cheez whiz.
How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids

Lohse may resort to career norms before the season even ends, but he is exactly the type of pickup that the Reds needed for this run. They needed to pick up someone and have them get hot. Kyle has done the job, and I think he's done it with quality pitch location to go with some good stuff. Here's to hoping we are the winning second org. for a talented underachiever.

Re: Kyle Lohse is a Red

I was going to start a thread asking why everyone didn't like him so much. I didn't know him at all, but he's been great from pitch one. No one expected this good, but he could just be the one pick up that puts us over the top. Great game tonight.
And This One Belongs to the REDS!!!

Just found out Lohse is one of two native americans in the big leagues.

    Who is the other? and
Have the REDS had other Native Americans play for them?
(I think Bench was part Cherokee...but)

Yes, Sean Casey, Danny Graves, Russell Branyan, Todd Hollandsworth and Brandon Phillips were all recent members of the "Tribe" before comiing to the Reds.

I'll give myself a:thumbdown for that one, but I'll be excused after a 14-0 win...

No. 5 wouldn't be bad, either.

People don't like him because his numbers were not good. That said, it has been mentioned time and time again on the broadcasts that his stuff is probably the best on the staff. This could end up being similar to the pickup of Harang, where we get to watch a guy develop right in front of our eyes.

Lohse will get roughed up between now and end of year, but he is already having a big impact on this team.
