But in listening to Buck Martinez this morning, I was expecting this. Buck said that the Reds really didn't have any real big chips to play in the game of deadline trading since the Kearns-Lopez trade. He left the impression that the deal was done too early and the Reds got fleeced.
So, if you got nobody to trade, you get nobody back. Today we traded a AAA pitcher for an old relief man and a prospect for a lousy pitcher who remind me of what we already had. Not much progress toward getting a starter, so there we have it.
