    Nice deal for the Royals. Affeldt's garbage and Bautista isn't much better. They're collective claim to fame is that once upon a time they managed to be wildly overrated.

    Meanwhile, Shealy can hit and Dohmann could yet prove a useful reliever now that he's pitching closer to sea level.

    The Colorado Rockies have acquired left-hander Jeremy Affeldt and right-hander Denny Bautista from the Kansas City Royals for infielder Ryan Shealy and right-hander Scott Dohmann.
