I am blown away that the Reds seem to have committed themselves to playing all of the old men on the roster. It's sad to run so many out there night after night who are at the end of their careers. I can understand Griffey (although I think a few more days off and some late inning defensive help from Denorfia are in order). BUT, to depend on Clayton, Weathers, Cormier, etc. as much as they do is a big mistake IMO. At best, I think that Hatteburg and Aurilia should be platooning at first base, with Aurilia also getting some spot starts at 2nd and 3rd; Clayton should be out of the picture completely; and Edwin Encarnacion should be playing nearly every day at third! Everyone knocks EE's defense, but it is not any worse than Clayton's or Aurilia's. How do the Reds think that they will be in the post season by relying on these old vets???
