Looks Like Edwin Rode Out His Hot Streak on the Bench

I'm not one to usually bash Narron, but I think as hot as EE was he had to be in the game somewhere. It's really hard to stay hot when you're not playing consistently. I think you've got to find ABs for your bench hitters because you need them to be sharp for pinch hitting.

Hopefully Narron will see this night as a reason to get EE more playing time, but most likely he'll go the other way and see it as a reason not to play him. I really don't think that when Edwin was hot it was just a fluke I think more likely games like tonight are a fluke. We'll see.

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.

Yeah, riding the bench will cause some rust to form.

This is true, but it's EE's responsibility to be sure he is ready. He did not have very good at-bats last night, and did a lot of waving up there. I can't blame Narron for that...

In his defense, Penny was "dealing" last night and, as good as he is, Encarnacion is far from a seasoned hitter at this stage in his career. He'll have his nights where he looks bad against good pitchers. Heck, they all do.

Precisely... EE wasn't the only one looking a little "rusty."

From what I hear, he's been taking that responsiblity seriously during his down time... arriving early every single day to work with Dent and in the batting cages... even practicing in the cages during the game in order to be sharp when he was called on to pinch hit.

I'm sure EE's working hard. I just can't blame Narron for this, that's all
