Since 7/1/06, Brandon Phillips has had 105 ABs. Those ABs have resulted in 24 hits, 9 runs scored and 5 runs driven in.
Since coming over from the Nationals, Royce Clayton has gone 13 for 57, with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI.
Since coming from the Twins in mid-June, Juan Castro has gone 15 for 49, with 4 runs scored and 6 RBI.
Collectively, that's 52 for 211 with 18 runs scored and 17 RBI.
Over the course of 600 ABs, that projects out to 51 runs scored and 48 runs driven in.
I think it's safe to say that the middle infielders have plenty of room for improvement with respect to the club's recent offensive woes.
The problem, of course, is that Castro & Clayton aren't that far off their career norms.
Here's hoping Brandon Phillips can warm up at the plate again soon.
