Wonder if anything happened around that time that would explain the decrease in run production?

Wow that's the first time I've seen anyone point that out.

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.
How do you explain the slumps the offense got into prior to the trade?Originally Posted by GOREDSGO32
I'm hoping that's all this is. Time will tell, as it does with any trade.

The Reds never had offensive slumps this season... nah... never.

The fact remains that we probably have THE streakiest offense in the majors.....when you have guys that strike out so much in Dunn, Jr., and (insert catcher not named David Ross), slumps like this one where we can't seem to score a run will happen.
That's why Krivsky has done a good job in getting the Hattebergs and Phillips' of the world to try to cut down on these slumps.......
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......
April 28, 2006.
Psst... Ross strikes out more then the other two.and (insert catcher not named David Ross),
More than Valentin, less than LaRue.Originally Posted by westofyou

School's out. What did you expect?
If we want to split hairs LaRue is at 3.84 ab's per K and Ross 3.82, for their careers Ross is at 3.26 and LaRue is at 3.45.Originally Posted by CTA513
However LaRue did lead the NL last year on the amount of pitches swung at and missed (24%)
Either way they both K often.
Neither guy is around their career numbers this year.Originally Posted by pedro
EE has got to start getting in the lineup more. He produced before he got hurt and he will produce again if given the chance. He will also get better defensively. Getting him in the game as well as Jr. getting out of his slump could be the tell tell sign
