    Royce and LaRue > Griffey

There is not one legit reason why he shouldn't be dropped to 6 or 7. And for all who think this has been beaten to death, wait until September when he is still in the 3 hole.

    Re: Who's Hot, Who's Not

    Castro's avg > Griffey's OBP

Dunn's SLG only .012 less than Jr's OPS

Freel's SLG only .059 less than Jr's OPS

Hatte's SLG only .020 less than Jr's OPS

    So bad.

    Re: Who's Hot, Who's Not

There are a lot of guys on that list at .800 OPS or better since the AS Break. 5 guys at .900 OPS or above with ~40 or more AB's. I think someone posted the Reds OPS is actually equal or better to the pre-AS Break production and they've faced some good Mets/Rockies/Dodgers pitching since the break. The MI weakness jumps off the page.

Beyond KGJ's horrendous skid and getting the right bats in the lineup more often they simply need to get some more timely RISP hits, cut down on the too-often of recent awful baserunning snafus and gain some luck on the BBIPA front when it counts (both on the opponent front which has been highly in their favor of late and the Reds front).

Good news is that the Reds have been in every game in the later innings since the AS Break. They've had a couple of late meltdowns leading to big innings and ugly finishes (Milton's 7th inning vs. NYM and Monday's 7th inning defensive debacle) but the reality is that with a couple breaks they could have won 4 or 5 of the last 6 games they've dropped.

I think the Reds are due for some luck to turn and to go on a decent run over the next few weeks.

Phillips does so much in the field with his glove, that I can live with his offense. He's still over .290, which means that he was way over his head before the slump started. He's coming around, getting on with the occasional bunt and still stealing a base or two.
