Since the Reds are in the middle of a playoff race, and a chance to win the division, I decided to take a look at some pitching stats from the past compared to know. In 1990, and 1994, the Reds had at least one pitcher in the top ten of all of the following stats in the NL, wins, CG's E.R.A., Games, and SHO's. As it stands right now, the Reds have a pitcher in the top ten of all these statistics in the NL. Here are the comparisons of the stats of 1990 when we won the world series, and the stats now.

1990 2006
K's Jose Rijo- (152 K's, 9th) / Aaron Harang- (146, 2nd) Arroyo- (127,7th)

W's Tom Browning- (15, 5th) Rijo-(14,6th)/ Harang-(12, T-1st)

CG's Jose Rijo- (7, T-4th) / Harang-(4, 1st)

E.R.A. (Starters) Jose Rijo- (2.70, 5th) / Bronson Arroyo- (3.47, 5th)

Games Rob Dibble-(68, 7th) / Todd Coffey- (55, 8th)

SHO's Jack Armstrong and Browning-T-4th/ Harang-(2, T-1st)

In the last 20 years, every time the Reds had pitchers in the top ten in all of these categories, they've won the division. Hopefully the same will result for the Reds this year.
