Bob Castellini loved the atmosphere at the park over the last couple of nights.
Great plays, lots of big hits, huge crowds, big wins. That's all great, but it came at a price.
Bob's gotta keep the momentum up. Nothing would be more deflating than seeing a mere 20K people per night during the next home stand.
They need another gimmick. The ticket prices thing was a great idea, but it's costly. Hot dogs? That's not enough to bring people in. Bobble Heads? Can't make any more than they've already ordered. Beanie Babies? That's soooo 1997.
What would be an affordable way to boost ticket sales, and morale at the same time?
What would bring people together in such a way as to elicit impromptu songsmanship and colorful heckling techniques?
Beer. That's what.
Half priced beer for the rest of the season.
File 'em in, liquor 'em up, and watch the wins pile up.
Tap the keg, and they will come.
Gooooo Bee....I mean, Reds!
