Ozzie Guillen on the NL Central

"If we played National League teams, the Central Division, we might win 150 games in that league," Guillen said. "They think I cheat? The American League Central? That's baseball right here. Go hard one after another.
"I don't know about the other [National League] divisions, but the Central? Oh, please. We went to Cincinnati, and what's his name, [Aaron] Harang? That's the best guy we faced.

He's probably pretty much right, but maybe Ozzie should just worry about the Red Sox, the Twins, and the Tigers right now...

Ozzie can blow that horn but the past 5 years a case can be made that it was his AL Central division that was the easiest in baseball.

I think the 150 game comment ruins his credibility for that particular rant. The 98 Yankees would probably only win 140 .

Guillen rarely turns on his brain before speaking. Now I can't decide if I want them to miss the wild card or get to play us or the Cardinals in the Series and we kick his butt.

I don't mind Guillen as much as some, and there is truth in his statement, but the hyperbole does hurt him...particularly given that at just this point (and later) in the season last year people were still calling smoke and mirrors on his team. (This is kind of a fallacy, since that's not entirely his point, but not unrelated.)
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

If the White Sox played in the NL Central, Chicago would still love the Cubs more.

I used to like Ozzie, he runs his mouth so much anymore though.. He probably always did, but it gets more attention when you are the defending World Series Champion manager.
I'm East of you. Be very very worried. Not quite OBX. But, be worried.

Reds vs White Sox 2006 World Series. Wouldn't it be nice if the Magic of 1990 repeated itself?

Re: Ozzie Guillen on the NL Central

What did he have against the NL Central (the division as a whole) that he had to say this. Yes we have a weak division, but you don't call out every team you beat???

Should we make fun of teams that we beat this year and talk trash about their best pitchers? I think he is losing a lot credibility the more he talks. Especially when you say "what's his name, Harang? He's the best pitcher we saw." No kidding, he's one of the best in the league.

I especially like him calling out his own players:
"You look at our Nos. 3, 4 and 5 hitters, they are the best in baseball. If we're cheating, how come we don't help Brian Anderson or [Juan] Uribe? If we're going to cheat, we're not just going to cheat for a few guys. Why is Brian Anderson having such a hard time to perform?
    He's a classy guy.

Hell, the Royals are better than the Cubs or Pirates in my opinion. And not a ton worse than the Brewers/Stros.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.
