Things That Used To Be Cincy But Are No More

I'm going way back here, I know, but...

    Mabley & Carew

    McAlpin's

Ontarios (Anyone remember that place on Beechmont Ave?)

Twin Fair (next to K-Mart on Beechmont Ave)

Becker Drugs (Is that in Mt. Carmel anymore?)

The Log Cabin in Mt. Orab

These are pretty obscure, but I spent lots of time at these places as a kid.

    Losing professional sports teams...........
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.

Mr. Gatti's? Though that might have been a chain.

Used to frequent the Beechmont Roller Rink as a kid, too.

Beechmont Ave, my first apartment was on that street in Mt Washington, right behind Gold Star... hence why I love GS mor ethen Skyline.

Where's those Gold Circle Malls and their Cinema's? The cheap ones with the cheesy music intro.

    Zayre?

    In a technical sense, me.
All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

    Paul Dixon. Chicken wedding anyone?

You can see his influence every night in Letterman.

I carried some merchandise out to Uncle Al's car once a few years back. I'll never forget when he said, "Just lay it in the back next to the accordion."

And I didn't realize the Kwik Brothers weren't really twins until some time in my early teens. My cousin laughed at me for days over that.

    Oh my gosh....Gold Circle!!!!!

Used to wait for their weekly flyers to see if anything Star Wars was on sale.

WOY- you and I must have lived very close to each other at some point in time.

That whole area was a stomping ground.

Ever get the butter crumb cake from Mt. Washington bakery????

Uncle Al hit on my friend when she was 18... it involved the accordian as an icebreaker... creepy said she.

And another friend of mine (when she was 10) saw Captain Wendy chase Al down a boat dock whilst she had a pistol, he jumped in the Ohio river and she fired off the rounds, she missed and split... my friend cried.
