Well there goes their prospect status. It seems every player the Reds send out there ends up hurt or a bust.Originally Posted by Az. Reds Fan

I like it. The thing is redmachine2003, the Reds havent really sent out any of their top prospects to the AFL in recent memory, so the odds of the guys making a leap forward after that was in trouble to begin with.
I think the AFL can have mixed results.
Every AFL game I've been to has been just crawling with Asst GM types and Scouts. Some have resembled a combine. Flaws are maginfied and amplified and in front of every team in baseball.
Last year Kevin Howard had a monster AFL campaign, yet everyone saw the hitch in his swing, and not a single team took a flier on him during the Rule V draft.
Yet Andre Ethier had a similiar coming out campaign and the Dodgers did whatever they could to net him. Now he's a solid starting OF for them.
Overall I think it's a mixed bag. Some will get injured (a la Jason Kubel & Wade Townsend) some will get dead arms, some will get found out, and some could have their coming out parties.
You never really know what you are going to get.
The coach we're supplying is Jamie Dismuke, who will be the Bench Coach. He currently is the Lookouts hitting coach.
