MSN is producing "Fan Club," an online reality show (remember when they were called "documentaries"?) that follows the Schaumburg Flyers of the Independent League. It's not as slick or well-produced as some other reality shows, but I find it interesting to get a behind-the-scenes look at guys who play the game for a living, but aren't millionaires and don't have to worry about being role models.
They're professional athletes, but their lives aren't that much different from ours. They splurge on lottery tickets, get shunned by women in bars, and get into petty squabbles. Some of them are funny and self-effacing, some of them are typical macho jocks, and some are complete jerks. Just like regular people.
