From what I understand Jay Bruce is more of a left Fielder. They would probably stick freel in center. By that time he will be 33 years old....
WHEN DOES IT STOP!?!?
I doubt Freel will be with the Reds in three years. I'd like to see him stick around but I think the Reds will move on without him in a year or two.
If we're making fearless predictions, I don't see Freel, Harris, or Ross being here.
Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I was thinking that as well. Harris for sure. Of the three, I'd say Ross has the best chance to still be here although I'm not sure what Krivsky thinks of his defense.Originally Posted by Joseph
I'm kind of hoping we might make a free agent acquisition or two to shake up that lineup a little bit.
2B and Catcher will be some veteran free agent acquisition. My lineup looks like this:
CF Freel
SS Phillips
LF Dunn
3B Encarnacion
1B Votto
RF Bruce
2B Free Agent Veteran (Luis Castillo?)
C Free Agent Veteran
P Bailey/Harang
Go BLUE!!!
If Freel is still in one piece and still productive he'll be around especially since he won't ever be a big contract guy. Plus he's exactly the type of player Cincinnati traditionally loves and that even the average fan wants to watch wreak havoc on a day in day out basis.
I'd be more worried about Dunn -- that's his FA season after the Reds pickup his 2008 option year. Somebody will for sure give him a 5 yr/90M contract and I doubt it's the home team unless the Reds have become a midmarket revenue generator at the gate.
1B - Doug Mientkiewicz
2b - Luis Rivas
3b - corey kosie
ss - Brandon Phillips
c - Joe Mauer
LF - Shannon Stewart
CF - Jay Bruce
RF - Jacque Jones
P - Radke, Lohse, Carlos Silva, Bailey, Harang
I do not think Freel ages.

You're thinking of Denorfia. Fine wine asks him for advice on how to age gracefully.Originally Posted by Keystone12

No lineup in the next 6 years (at least) will have Edwin batting 6th. He will either be batting 3rd or 4th.
I really doubt Votto will be better then Edwin. I don't think Bruce will be either, but he has a chance.
Do you guys really think Dunn will be here in 3 years? Will Castellini want to fork out the dough to keep him, or will Dunn go off to Houston? I believe he only signed a contract for this year and next.
Look what Krivsky has done in a few months! That lineup is basically all internal. I don't think that will be true 3 years from now. Krivsky definitely gets the importance of developing youth, but there will still be major changes between now and 2009. He wants a WS and won't stand pat on this team.
IMO, Freel will not play CF in '09 if ever and Votto will be traded for pitching.
