Arroyo has been pretty solid at the plate this year. He has really surprised me. Even if he doesn't get a hit he seems to get some good wood on the ball a lot of the time.
It's too early to tell, but Kyle Lohse looks like a pretty good athlete, which sometimes translates to being a good hitter (for a pitcher).
As I said before, Joe Nuxhall has to be considered.
Tom Seaver is another excellent choice.
Bucky Walters was a very good hitter. Of course, he started his major-league career as a 3B/2B.

When he first came up, Chris Hammond was a pretty good hitter...and Jeff Russell was pretty good, also.

I just went fishing and Hod Eller batted .280 in 1919, an aberation, but he even had 3 doubles, 3 triples and 1 homer. All the other years were on the Interstate (even though the Interstate didn't exist then in reality).
