James Avery starting for Louisville tonight (Bats game thread)

Probably just a fill-in, but interesting nonetheless.

Edit: Since I'm sitting here listening to it I'll put game updates here. Bats have struck for 4 in the first. Hopper singled, Denorfia popped out, and Wise reached on what should've been a 3-6-3 DP that the first basement garbled. The throw went into the outfield and Hopper went to third. Brendan Harris doubled both in, and Andy Abad followed with a HR to right.

Wow, Terrence Long used to be a pretty good CF and now he is in AAA. Isn't he only around 30?

Avery's churned out three scoreless innings. Not bad for the pride of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan (well, okay, the other pride, besides electricity)- he's had his share of struggles this year.

Re: James Avery starting for Louisville tonight (Bats game thread)

Avery's now running into trouble in the 4th. 1 run in, runners at the corners, 1 out. Hanigan almost hit one out in the top of the inning, but just fell short. 4-1 LOU.

Edit: Gameday and the radio are off, and it screwed me up. Runners were at the corners, but it was a sac fly following that brought the run home. Runner on 2nd, 2 outs.

Even though he's only at 72 pitches they've pulled Avery. Chad Bentz will now pitch.
